TATWERK goes Tempelhofer Feld: PLAY at Performing Arts Festival Berlin 2023

Happy to announce our shows of PLAY outdoors in the frame of Performing Arts Festival Berlin 2023. We perform 31st May – 3rd June at the fantastic Tempelhofer Feld, an old airfield in the midst of Berlin and the largest public recreational open space in Europe. The performances are presented by the beautiful TATWERK | Performative Forschung, with which we share an ongoing cooperation. Bring your friends, lovers, kids, dogs and a summery picnic, see you on the field!

OPEN PRACTICE 2023

I have started the new research format Open Practice in Berlin, inviting professional dance artists to join my current artistic research. The Open Practice aims set up a regular exchange with freelance dance artists interested in my artistic practice and wants to promote shared creative learning and community in the independent dance scene. This pilot project started in November 2021 and will continue through 2023. Further details and registration here


ALMOST HOME to premiere at STEPS Dance Festival 2022

We are thrilled to announce that ALMOST HOME will premiere at STEPS Dance Festival 2022, with site specific performances at 25hours Hotel Zürich West (29 April - 1 May 2022) and Hotel N’vY Geneva (21 - 22 May 2022). Tickets/details: https://www.steps.ch/programme/tanzflug-mirjam-gurtner.html

The participatory and site specific work ALMOST HOME unites an intergenerational and inclusive cast of amateur and professional dancers. This project was initiated by Verein Tanzflug Zürich and coproduced by ZÜRICH TANZT (2021) and Migros-Kulturprozent Tanzfestival STEPS (2022). A beautiful documentary was released in the frame of ZÜRICH TANZT 2021.

I will be facilitating an inclusive Masterclass for disabled and non-disabled professional dancers and performers with stage experience. PLAY invited for Tanzfest 2022

Excited to announce a Swiss national tour of PLAY in the frame of Tanzfest 2022.

My new work PLAY premiered live in May 2021 at Theater ROXY Birsfelden in Basel and was restaged for the outdoors in June 2021 for 48-Stunden-Neukölln Festival in Berlin. Further touring 2022/23, watch this space for announcements.
